My name is Mael Schärz, I am 18 years old and live in Thun. I have been practicing diving with great passion since I was ten years old. I train at Swimming Club Thun and am part of the Swiss National Team.

For me, diving is more than just a sport – it is a central part of my daily life. Through the sport, I have developed valuable qualities such as discipline, self-motivation, and teamwork, which also benefit me outside the pool.

Preparation for the Youth Swiss Championships 2026

Train. Eat. Sleep. Repeat.

I am currently in intensive preparation for the Youth Swiss Championships 2026 in Lausanne. The training build-up is going according to plan, and I am working specifically on technique, strength and consistency. The anticipation for the competition is growing – I am ready to show my best.

🥈 Competition

2x Silver in Madrid!

Together with Lenny Wirz, I won 2nd place in synchronized diving from the 10-meter platform as well as 2nd place in synchronized diving from the 3-meter springboard. We are satisfied with the results, even though we unfortunately couldn't quite deliver our training performance in the competition. All the more motivated, we look forward – we will continue to train intensively to achieve our goals for this season. In the individual competitions, I showed a good performance from the 1-meter springboard. In the other disciplines, however, I have not yet managed to implement my full training level. Here too, I take important insights with me for the upcoming competitions.

Personal Best at the Winter Cup

At the Winter Cup 2025 in Lausanne, I was able to significantly improve my personal best from the 3-meter springboard. The intensive preparation has paid off!

Intensified Preparation for the 2026 Season

Winter preparation is in full swing: 9 training sessions per week, focus on new difficulty levels and mental strength. The first competitions are just around the corner.
